Just a short note to let you know, we are all moved again, we are back in Western Shore, settled in and busy hunting most days. Driving taxi, bending the elbow at the Legion, looking forward to seeing the snow we did not see last winter. Last winter we experienced snow only on our way to Louisiana, mainly in Virginia, then again for one night in Northern California in March.

We don't think we will be hitting the highway this Spring, unless we win the lotto. I was just thinking though, that Trish e-mails me money from her account at least once a month to pay the bills. If any of you out there want to contribute to the poor Paul & tearful Trish travel fund, it's so easy! If you do your banking on line, here are the easy to follow instructions, go to your account, hit e-mail transfers, enter my name, enter my e-mail address twice, select English, put in the amount, select the account, then e-mail me the code! Please, please remember, you are not allowed to send more than $1000. per day.
Like Hank Snow, we're movin on! Yes, we are moving again, we got caught in the crossfire, the Board of Directors here put the rent up 15 per cent, we found out the original house we were going to rent in Western Shore was still available, so we rushed to sign a lease, (again), we had asked them to break the lease before so we could move in here, then the government stepped in and stopped the rent increase, too late for us, we have to honour our lease, so here we go, back to Western Shore, not too far from where we lived before. We even got our old post office box back. P.O. Box 207, Western Shore, NS , B0J 3M0. We will have a new phone number, will keep you posted, moving around the 21 of November, the move and driving taxi is playing havoc with our hunting season, but we still hope to get out and get two Bambis, a few partridge and pheasants and at least one wily coyote!

Well, our team the New Orleans Saints, won their first game of the NFL season, who would have thought we would become football fans, but after being in Louisiana for the Superbowl last Spring and watching them win, and then participating in the celebrations at the Leesville Legion, we can't help but be interested, we didn't actually watch the whole game but flicked over during commercials to see how {our} team was doing! "Who Dat? Who Dat? Who Dat say dey goin to beat dem Saints!" We missed the Saints Celebration in Naw'leans and we missed the Mardi Gras, but we did get to walk on Bourbon Street a week before the game. We also did the horse and buggy thing at night, what a delight!

We haven't blogged for weeks, just don't have anything very interesting , since we are not "on the road" , but, if you are interested , we are still here. Well rested now, after a few weeks in our new home, Trish is finally finished unpacking, Paul is driving taxi, cleaning boats, getting back to his walking and sleeping in! I have removed my life in rhyme from the blog, I plan to start it up again on a new site and will keep you posted, I have to figure out how a blog can be read scrolling down and not up. Anyone know how I do that????? Played golf at Chester with my son, grandson and daughter-in-law, darlene, on my son's 49th birthday! Rob had never played Chester before, and can't wait to get back!!!

We are moved in, lock, stock and barrel to Shoreham, thanks to our friend Elaine, who assisted with the heavy lifting, my male friends were playing golf and hiding at a blue grass festival! Trish will be unpacking for weeks, Paul is driving taxi, napping ,and enjoying having a telephone, the internet and TV, all of which we haven't had for over six months, while on the road. We did enjoy the luxury of TV and the Internet during our visits to the Lavetry's in Leesville,Louisiana , but in the camper it was, Crib, Rummy and Scrabble most evenings, we enjoyed each others company immensely, crowded into 18 square feet. We camped with friends, Dale & Brian for 10 days prior to our move, and can't thank them enough for their hospitality! Dale also helped us move a few things the first day.

The wedding is over, beautiful weather, beautiful bride, a beautiful setting on Banook lake, everything went off without a hitch , as they say, well I guess there was one hitch, Gilbert and Jenny got hitched. Small world, the Justice of the Peace used to be my Commanding Officer when I flew off HMCS Annapolis forty years ago, I met a guy I worked with at the jail for 25 years, and I discovered I went to school with the brides grandmother, I have photos from grade five, can`t wait to dig them out, our furniture is still in storage! Heading to our Nova Scotia home in Chester tomorrow!

Shoreham Village in Chester is a home for the elderly and a nursing home, but it is also a "Campus For The Living! That's the part Trish and I are moving into! I will probably volunteer to deliver meals to those that don't leave their apartments and Trish plans to do some grocery shopping for those that are unable to do so! Also I will be driving taxi during the day, driving the community bus and maybe even the Shoreham bus! We plan to keep busy. We may move into the nursing home about thirty years from now!!!! I also plan to run a cribbage tournament! I would also like to start a program teaching the elderly to use a computer and write their life stories! I have written my life story in rhyme, and will share it with you, one paragraph at a time!!

A change of plans, and homes, we are not moving in to the little house in Western Shore, we (are) moving in to a two bedroom apartment at Shoreham, to those not from Chester, Shoreham is the home for the elderly in Chester, we have had our names in for a few years and lucked in yesterday! We know, we know, you don't see us as elderly, but I have qualified for 3 years and Trish is qualified because she hangs around with an old man! Sylvia's mother has moved into nursing care and we are moving into her place on August 1st! It may not be a house, but it is still "ournovascotiahome".

Had a nice BBQ with our friend Donna from St. Lawrence NFLD, Craig , her favourite son-in-law did the cooking, of course Jacque contributed the salads (Donna's recipes). Thursday night we attended the Tattoo, thanks to my sister, great show, Trish broke down during the Afghanistan tribute, she has two sons serving there now! Taking Donna to the airport this am! Donna's son Billy survived the 2007 disaster in Afghanistan, when six of his friends died, including Kevin Kennedy of St. Lawrence who Billy grew up with! Billy has served twice and his wife also did a tour in Afghanistan

Welcome to our new, but not so new followers, first was the faithful Lucy & Andy, then Dale & Brian, niece Sharon and another great faithful Joanne! Since arriving home to the great lobster supper, Brian then went on to cook mackeral the next night, then Moose-burgers with Blue Cheese, then topped it all off with Drunken Chicken on Father's Day. We have been so busy since arriving back in N.S., camping most days on the South Shore, looking for a house,(we found one in Western Shore) , for our Louisiana friends Western Shore is on the South Shore, makes sense, hey? Only to a Maritimer!

Across the beautiful New Brunswick and down to P.E.I, to the rockbound coast of Newfoundland, I'll love them 'til I die, but if God came down upon this earth, and asked a place to rest, I'd take him to my Nova Scotia Home, the place that I love best!!! Clarence (Hank) Snow

We seem to have lost the ability to blog on homesweethighway, so we are starting a new blog, called (our Nova Scotia home) , Welcome to anyone that followed us on our six month trip to B.C. . via Florida, Texas, California, Oregon to Comox and back again! We are camping aroiund Nova Scotia , campgrounds and friends who let us plug in! We just had a wonderful three day rest at Annapolis River Campground in Bridgetown N. S. with friends Cathy & Brian, watched some great fireworks on Canada Day, now heading up the Valley to visit my long lost son, Rob.
We are very relaxed because we have found our new Nova Scotia home in Western Shore, near where we used to live prior to our Snowbird Odessey! We move in on August 1st, meanwhile we have a busy schedule, see our doctors, sign a lease, see our friend Donna from St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, go to the Tattoo, then settle into Cathy & Brian's for a week in preparation for her daughter's wedding!
